VRF Statement of Objectives
- Eliminate the availability of high-manganese content foods, including infant formulas, for the first six months of a baby’s life.
- Institute a program for early detection and treatment of attention-deficit / hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) and other behavioral disorders associated with excessive manganese exposure.
- Promote a societal awareness of and treatments to normalize toxic biochemical imbalances in infants, children and teenagers, as well as juveniles and adults in the criminal justice system.
- Reduce elevated ambient levels of manganese and lead, as reported by the Environmental Protection Agencies, that are one micron and smaller. Research suggests that this particulate size is irrespirable and directly related to increased neurological disorders, including ADHD and aberrant, violent behavior, as well as dementia, cancer and Parkinson’s disease in areas where manganese and lead are significantly elevated.
- Commit resources to inform teen age girls and boys, most of whom will become parents at some time in their lives, about the importance of optimum calcium and iron status during pregnancies. Research indicates that low iron and/or calcium status is a precursor to excess absorption of manganese from food, water or ambient sources. Research indicates that a mother’s excessive manganese levels can result in the destruction of her child’s dopamine neurotransmitter and may result in neurological disorders.
- Create a data base and training center which will interface with all county juvenile and adult criminal courts, prison systems, and probation departments. A major university will oversee the dissemination of information and research indicating the cost effective benefits of reduced aberrant, violent behavior through non-drug nutritional intervention.
